The Hero's JourneyIn life, when much of our energy and attention is focused on the many problems and demands placed on us, our inner world often gets ignored. Symptoms crop up: anxiety, depression, addiction, conflict, illness. All symptoms, whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, are best seen as a helpful invitation to look at ourselves. Something deep inside us is in trouble, and wants our attention. In therapy, the job is to go inside and explore the deepest parts of you, to see what the real problem is. And by the way, it’s probably not what you think it is. The goal is simple: to help you become your authentic Self – the person you were meant to be, living the life you were meant to live. This hero’s journey of discovery and healing should always be experienced as a profound adventure, one you’ve been waiting a long time to have. Such a journey requires a steady companion to guide you past all your resistance, attachments and blind spots. That’s where I come in, and it’s a job I love. Healing is hard to do alone, so consider allowing yourself a little help. You’ll be glad you did.
